Green Refinery Sumatera

To support Indonesia’s energy transition and efforts to scale up sustainable fuel production, we plan to develop a Biorefinery Plant in Plaju, South Sumatera. The project aims to utilize the country’s abundant vegetable oil feedstock to produce low-carbon fuels such as HVO and SAF, while leveraging domestic refining capabilities to drive a more sustainable and secure energy future.

Blue Ammonia Bintuni

The Blue Ammonia Bintuni project is a pioneering low-emission ammonia production initiative in West Papua, targeting an emissions reduction to support Net Zero Commitment. By having this project, we aim to positioning ourselves as the first blue ammonia producer in Southeast Asia.

LNG Infrastructure Development project consists of:

1. Arun Energy Hub

  • The Arun Terminal is being transformed into a regional, future-ready energy hub near the Malacca Strait, capitalizing on its strategic location. Currently equipped with LNG regasification, storage facilities for LNG, LPG, and condensate, as well as Gas Utility and Condensate Distribution (GUCD) services, the terminal is set for major upgrades. Planned developments include LNG bunkering, blue ammonia and hydrogen production, and CO₂ storage, positioning Arun as a key player in the region’s low-carbon energy transition.

2. Gas Infrastructure in Central & Eastern Indonesia

  • This initiative targets underdeveloped regions, aiming to expand access to natural gas for industry, power generation, transportation, and households. It aligns with national energy policy and reinforces our company’s strategic role in accelerating Indonesia’s energy transition and strengthening its presence in emerging markets.

Biomethane Development from Agriculture Waste

Driven by the global decarbonization agenda outlined in the 2015 Paris Agreement and Indonesia’s commitment to achieve Net Zero Emissions (NZE) by 2060, we aim to become a clean energy provider through initiatives like biomethane development. This project focuses on converting agricultural waste, which is currently burned and contributes to pollution, into biomethane that can be injected into the existing gas grid or distributed via point-to-point schemes. Beyond reducing emissions, the project supports a circular economy and provides additional income for farmers, aligning environmental sustainability with rural economic empowerment.

Synthetic Natural Gas

To address West Java’s projected gas shortfall starting in 2025, we are supporting Indonesia in exploring coal gasification as a strategic solution to ensure energy security. The gasification technology can convert coal reserves into pipeline-quality synthetic natural gas (SNG). This approach not only monetizes underutilized domestic resources but also supports the national transition toward cleaner, more reliable energy systems.
